Happy Wednesday, Scouts. Welcome to Edition X of Scout & Tell.
Despite the weather report, fall has arrived on the calendar and there is no shortage of wonderful events happening in our stretch of Colorado. This week I’ve made a special focus to the pumpkin patches and ‘Fall Y’all’ theme.
If that’s not your style, we’ve got a full slate of music and events happening across the 970. Drive there safe and don’t get caught by the new speed camera placement ***hint hint see below.
Grab a hot apple cider, cuddle up with a blanket because the AC is still blowing and dive in below.
I’ll see you out there,

Pumpkin Season in Northern Colorado: Where to Go This Month
It might not feel like October weather-wise, but the lattes are flowing with spice and everything nice across northern Colorado.
Break out the boots, vests and make the ever-important decision: Where are you heading to pick pumpkins and have some fun this weekend!?!
That answer depends on what kind of afternoon you want.
This week's roundup covers seven spots from Fort Collins to Erie to LaSalle. We've listed hours, pricing, and what each farm actually offers, so you can match the place to your crew (and your budget). Most close out October 31, so the next few weekends are the window.
Bartels Pumpkin Patch
3424 E. Douglas Road, Fort Collins, CO 80524
Hours: Daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Oct. 31
Website: thebartelspumpkinpatch.com
Phone: (970) 493-3853
This family farm north of cirty proper Fort Collins dates back to 1905. Admission and parking are fee. Pumpkins are priced by size, starting at 50 cents per pound. The daytime corn maze runs $5 per person or $20 for a family of five or more and hayrides are $2 per person (infants 1 and under ride free).
They also have a U-pick garden, where peppers, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery and more are fair game, with squash and gourds priced per pound or item.
The concession stand has basked goods, burgers and hot dogs, and kettle corn and cotton candy on weekends. Dogs are welcome on a leash but can't ride the hayride. Cash preferred.
Something From the Farm
8020 S. Timberline Road, Fort Collins, CO 80525

Website: somethingfromthefarm.com
Phone: (970) 214-2871 (call or text)
Entry is free, but the hayrides and the bale maze are $5 per person (3 and under free). The corn cannon (You read that right) is three shots for $5 and the pumpkin trebuchet is $12 per throw on weekends only.
The featured snacks include apple donuts and hot apple cider. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Cash, card or Venmo accepted.
Garden Sweet
719 W. Willox Ln, Fort Collins, CO 80524

Garden Sweet is an organic fruit and vegetable farm that fills its stand with pumpkins and gourds in the fall. The farm stand also carries bread, jams and jellies. Pick-your-own visits are reservation-based, so book through the website before you go. Pricing varies by item and event.
Osborn Farm
1230 S. Boise Ave., Loveland, CO 80537
Hours: Daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (weather and crops permitting)
Website: osbornfarm.com
Phone: Not listed
This centennial farm has been in the same family since 1861. Admission and parking are free and the pricing list is refreshingly simple: pumpkins are 55 cents per pound, small gourds and mini pumpkins are 55 cents each, large gourds are $5, corn stalk bundles and straw bales are $12, and weekend hayrides and barrel trains are $3.
The petting zoo is $2 per child (cash only), with proceeds going to 4-H and Loveland kids' activities. They also sell farm honey, mums and on weekends a rotating lineup of local vendors, including Georgia Boys BBQ and Colorado Coffee Company.
Bring clippers, gloves and your own wagon, as the wheelbarrows go fast. Dogs are welcome on a short leash.
Anderson Farms
6728 County Road 3-1/4, Erie, CO 80516
Hours: Open Monday and Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Oct. 31. Closed Tuesdays. Last wagon to the patch leaves at 5:30 p.m., and last entry on Mondays and Wednesdays is 4:30 p.m.
Website: andersonfarms.com
Phone: (303) 828-5210
The place is the pinnacle of farm options, per this writer's experience.
Peak-season tickets (through Oct. 25, ages 4 and up, 3 and under free) run $18 timed or $23 at the door Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; $25 timed to $45 at the door on Fridays; and $32 timed to $50 at the door on weekends. Buy online, because weekend dates sell out. The ticket covers the wagon ride to the patch (100-plus varieties, pumpkins extra), a 25-acre corn maze, barrel train, trike track, jump pads, combine slide, a low ropes course and yard games.
Add-ons include gem mining, duck races, and a paintball shooting gallery. From Oct. 26 to 30, tickets drop 25 percent, and Oct. 31 is half off.
Terror in the Corn, the farm's haunted attraction, is ticketed separately.
Fritzler Farm Park
20861 County Road 33, LaSalle, CO 80645
Hours: Select dates through Nov. 1; check the online calendar (daytime attractions, including the patch, close at 6:30 p.m.)
Website: fritzlerfarmpark.com
Phone: (970) 737-2129
Fritzler runs two shows in one. By day, the Fall Fest covers a giant corn maze, a you-pick pumpkin patch, 20-plus attractions (pig and cow racers, Slide Mountain, pedal go-carts, a train, a corn flyer) and a beer garden for the 21-plus crowd.
At night, Scream Acres takes over as the haunted corn maze. The Fun Pass starts at $25.95 online ($33.95 at full price and the Ultimate Fun Pass starts at $42.95 online ($50.95 full price) and adds an Orbeez shooting gallery session and a pumpkin cannon session.
Ages 3 and up need a ticket. Pumpkins, alcohol, food and haunt admission cost extra, and prices don't include tax or fees.
Tigges Farm
12404 County Road 64 1/2, Greeley, CO 80631
Hours: Thursday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Website: tiggesfarmllc.com
Phone: (970) 686-7225 (seasonal hours line); (970) 576-8970 (year-round, text preferred)
Unfortunately, because of drought and limited irrigation water, Tigges couldn't plant its big pick-your-own fields this year. Pumpkins are limited and sold around the farm stand. Pink pumpkins carry a $2 add-on donated to Hope Lives, a nonprofit supporting breast cancer patients in Larimer and Weld counties.
Oct. 24 and 25 they host a petting zoo (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Conestoga wagon rides and a unicorn visit (1 to 4 p.m.), face painting, a food truck, a gift shop and a Saturday pumpkin chunkin' (1 to 3 p.m.). The farm is also known for fire-roasted green chile and fresh produce, and admission is free.

📸 Lead Foot Alert on Riverside
There's a speed camera on Riverside between Mulberry and Mountain. For my speed racers out there, you can go up to seven MPH over, but I wouldn’t push it. Safety first!
🚧 Trilby Is Open Again, and 10/3 Is Now a Holiday
East-west traffic can cross Trilby at College again! Consider 10/3 an official holiday in honor of the reopening, complete with new dual left-turn lanes and a wider Trilby approach.
⚡ Peak Power Hours Just Moved
Fort Collins Utilities' on-peak electricity window is now 5 to 9 p.m. on weekdays, down from the 2 to 7 p.m. summer window that ran through September. Off-peak runs about 70% cheaper, so shift the laundry and dishwasher to before 5 or after 9.

Horse country meets pickleball court on this 6.67-acre Dark Sky estate. There's a heated barn with a loft, two gated pastures, a 12-tree orchard, and a brand-new 30-foot gazebo with a fire pit under some of the darkest skies in town. Oh, and the price just dropped $145K, so this one's suddenly a much more interesting conversation.

Harley, Age 5 - German Shepherd Dog
Meet Harley! This 68-pound shepherd is upfront about her one hobby: escaping. She needs a six-foot wooden fence and a home where she's the only dog, and in exchange you get a five-year-old who's past the puppy stage and ready for adventures. Secure the perimeter and she's all yours.
Harley is available for adoption at the Larimer Campus in Loveland, with a $175 adoption fee. Find out more about this good girl at the NoCo Humane website.

Put Down the Phone, Pick Up a Pool Cue
The Northern Colorado Singles Social Club is for single adults who are done with dating apps, awkward DMs, and getting left on read. Instead, the group sets up low-pressure meetups around Greeley, Windsor, Loveland, and Fort Collins. Think coffee, pool nights, trivia, game nights, happy hours, and walks. There's no speed dating and no sales pitch, and nobody expects every conversation to end in romance.
The goal is to make showing up alone feel normal. Sean Ziegler organizes the group, which has 258 members on Meetup and the house rules are short: be respectful, no drama, no creepy DMs. Come to make friends, build some confidence, and see what happens naturally. Join the group on Meetup and find your next pool partner.
